Family Travel Tips + Resources

Planning family adventures doesn’t have to be overwhelming—I’ve rounded up the best travel resources I personally use to make trips with kids easier, more affordable, and more fun. From budget flight finders and stroller recommendations to travel cards and National Park passes, these are the exact tools that help our family of five explore the world together.

Heads up! Some links on here are affiliate links, meaning I might make a tiny commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. But don’t worry, I only recommend stuff I actually love. My opinion? 100% my own!

  • Secret Flying – If you’re flexible with your travel dates and destinations, SecretFlying.com is a goldmine for finding deeply discounted flights, sometimes as low as $100 round-trip. They specialize in spotting airline pricing errors and flash deals, which can be a game-changer for families on a budget.
  • Hopper – Hopper’s price alerts have saved us so much on flights. I don’t always have time to track deals, so I let the app do it for me.
  • Affordable World – I like Affordable World for its family-friendly international vacation packages. Sometimes it’s nice to have flights and hotels bundled stress-free.
  • Great Value Vacations – I’ve found some surprisingly affordable trips through Great Value Vacations. It’s a fun way to explore new destinations without overspending. You can get $50 off your first trip by using my referral code Y6WBK when booking!
  • Viator – Viator is where I find unique tours and activities to make our trips extra memorable, whether it’s snorkeling or a quirky walking tour.
  • Airalo – Airalo eSIMs have been a game-changer for staying connected abroad without hunting for Wi-Fi or juggling SIM cards.
  • Hagaday Stroller – This stroller has been a lifesaver on our trips—compact enough to travel with, but comfy enough for my toddler to nap in.
  • Momfann Stroller – I recommend this one too for parks or beach trips because it fits all three of my kids, plus baby bags, and the attachable cooler is a plus!
  • Groupon – My #1 site to check for incredible deals on all-inclusive international trips, I’m talking flights, hotels, car rentals, tours, and even meals. We’ve saved thousands!
  • Little Passports – Great for teaching kids about countries, cultures, and geography before a trip. Helps make travel educational and fun.
  • Trip.com – I like using Trip.com for hotels because they often have deals I don’t see anywhere else. It’s worth comparing!
  • Alaska Airlines Visa – This card is amazing because the companion fare has basically paid for itself with just one family trip.
  • Bank of America Travel Rewards Card – I like this one because I can redeem points for any type of travel purchase, not just flights. Flexibility is everything with kids.
  • National Parks Pass – For $80 a year, our family gets into every U.S. National Park. It’s the best investment for affordable adventures and making nature part of our kids’ childhood.
